About Us

From 1978 to 1980, Kaufman Area Rural Transportation (KART) operated as Kaufman Committee on Aging providing aging transportation services for the elderly residents of Kaufman County.

In 1980, the State of Texas chartered Kaufman County Senior Citizens Services, Inc. (KCSCSI) as a private, non-profit corporation. In 1988, Kaufman Area Rural Transportation came to life. KART formed to provide demand response public transportation for all transit dependent residents of Kaufman County. In November, 2001, KART became a Political Subdivision by the State of Texas.

KART Management has provided transportation for 25+ years. KART has matured under the management and is a leader in the rural field of public transportation and is looking to add additional counties to incorporate into the successful transportation system in Kaufman County.

The General Manager has more than 30 years experience within the Senior Citizen Transportation Services area. The General Manager was responsible for the development of SSCAT in the late 1970’s. SSCAT is the transportation service provided to the Senior Citizens of Seagoville, Texas.
