Meals on Wheels - Hot Meals
The Meals on Wheels (MOW) Program provides nutritious, balanced, hot meals for homebound citizens in Kaufman, and Navarro counties over the age of sixty who are challenged to cook for themselves. Lunches are prepared fresh daily, and are delivered Monday through Friday by local volunteers. There are approximately 140,000 meals delivered annually in Kaufman and Navarro Counties which are supported by the combined efforts of city, county, state, and federal governments. Contributions by concerned citizens, the clients themselves, and the United Way provide an invaluable foundation for the success of this essential program.

The success of the Meals On Wheels program depends on the dedication of numerous volunteers. The nutritional value of the lunch is just the beginning. Our volunteers tell us the most rewarding part of delivering meals is getting to know the seniors and bringing them a word of cheer and heartfelt concern.
